Tree Standards

Due to the disease that effected all of the clusters green ash trees in 2018, and the required removal of the trees, the board established new tree standards for front yard trees. The trees need to be single trunk and at least 6’ tall.

  1. American Hophornbeam
  2. Star Magnolia
  3. Sweetbay Magnolia
  4. Serviceberry
  5. Sourwood
  6. Eastern Redbud

Check out the attached file below for descriptions and photos of our approved trees.

Most homeowners (as of March 2020) have removed and replaced their dead or dying green ash trees. If you still have a green ash tree in your front yard, please be aware that you will need to take action soon to have it removed and replaced. Growing Earth Tree Care  is available for Tree removal and stump grinding, however they will not plant new trees. Call Brian Callen at (703) 818-8228 or email at [email protected].

The new trees can be purchased and planted by several local landscape companies including Blue Sky Landscaping and Meadows Farms. Please contact them directly for information.

Contact the TAW Cluster President if you have questions.
